Especially for Exhibitors

As
an exhibitor of beef animals, you have a special role in the beef
industry. Youth shows are a part of the beef industry that many
people that are otherwise unfamiliar with livestock, come to see
or read about in the newspapers. Because of this, some consumers
may judge the entire beef industry based on what they see happening
at youth shows. If they see hardworking young adults doing their
own work, following the rules and producing animals that will yield
high quality products -- it gives them with a positive image of
the entire beef industry. However, if they see youth that are not
following the rules, or doing things that may negatively affect
the quality of the products from the animal -- consumers may develop
a negative image of the entire industry. That is why it is SO important
that you, as an exhibitor, make ethical decisions and do everything
you can do produce a high quality product.
Knowing, understanding and following the "Code of Showring
Ethics", the guidelines and rules for the shows in which you
exhibit, and proper health and quality assurance procedures with
your livestock are important parts of being the kind of exhibitor
that will give all consumers a positive image of the livestock industry.
Review the information below and take the self-test at the end to
