| Dear Parent:
Your youth is exploring growth and development and
what makes them unique. The lessons will include (1)
Family Connections which is about their inherited
traits, (2) Growing Times, a lesson on patterns of
growth during adolescence, and (3) Food for Growth,
a discussion about nutrients needed by growing bodies
and their food sources. Each of these are important
pieces of the puzzle that makes each and every person
unique.
You
can help by encouraging your child to learn about his or her unique qualities.
You might want to get the old family albums out and help your child find who he
or she resembles. This is a great opportunity to help your child build his or
her sense of self. If your child is adopted, this might also be a good time to
discuss possible physical traits of the birth parents. We hope
you and your child have fun! |
